Full Time
40 Hours/Week
Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 6:00pm
Onsite, 5 days/week
On-Call Rotation, every 8 weeks
Summary:
Coordinate day-to-day operations in the document imaging area. Ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are maintained. Oversee the training and auditing of document imaging specialists. Provide re-training when needed to ensures a complete and accurate scanned record. Update and maintain the Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) for OnBase scanning. In Charge of maintaining the Document Correction Work Que.
Responsibilities:
Assigning work, Quality Review, training and document corrections
- Assess the daily work load & reassign scanning roles to ensure all work is done timely and staff is following the rotation schedule.
- Should oversee who is assigned to what scanning area for the day & assign projects, as needed
- Ensure Coverage when any call offs happen
- Should do the majority of Quality Review and re-educate as needed with the HIM Document Imaging Specialists.
- Train new document imaging specialists
- Update and maintain the Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) Manages quality of scanning and indexing
Review, report and educate other areas in the Hospital on indexing/quality concerns Retrieves/gathers records to be scanned.
- Review the "Weekly Scanning Report" on all documents scanned into the "Media" tab within Epic
- Perform audits based on the weekly scanning report and educate on the findings.
- Other duties as required.
Manages quality of scanning and indexing
- `Verifies hard copies against scanned images to ensure:
- All pages were captured,
- Image quality is good,
- Indexing is correct,
- Pages are readable, in correct order and oriented properly.
- Rescans poor quality images (image cut off, unclear, crumpled during scanning etc.) as necessary.
Modifies or makes corrections to indexing and/or scanned records as necessary to ensure quality.
Other information:
Technical Expertise
- Scanning experience preferred.
- Medical office and/or health information management or health related experience required
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] typing skills of 30 WPM required.
- Experience in healthcare is preferred.
