Summary:
Works with service line leadership and functions in liaison and supervisory roles for service line nursing professional development practitioners/specialists. Administrative and reporting responsibilities as per service line. Interacts with the service line workforce at large on issues related to safety, quality, financial stewardship, professional development, and other considerations as identified by the leadership team. Assigned responsibility for and is designated expert for professional practice in the service line.
Responsibilities:
1. Provides clinical leadership and mentoring in matters relating to clinical practice and the professional development of staff for the service line and for serving as the liaison between nursing professional development practitioners/specialist and service line nursing and medical directors.
2. Responsible for oversight of service line nursing professional development practitioner/specialist onboarding and orientation and annual performance reviews.
3. Works directly with service line nursing and medical directors to implement standardization and monitor quality metrics across the service line.
4. Responsible for providing guidance, clinical expertise, and mentoring within the specialty while optimizing available resources to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
5. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary, nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the specialty service line.
6. Participates in performance improvement initiatives within the service line.

Technical Expertise
- Excellent coordination and multi-tasking skills required.
- Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience
- Education: Master's Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited nursing program is required.
- Licensure and Certification: Licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio is required current Health Care Provider BLS training from the American Heart Association is required. Specialty certification is required.
- Years of relevant experience: 5-8 years working as a nurse is required.
- Years of experience supervising: 3 years is preferred.
- Experience in pediatric, neonatal, and/or perinatal healthcare is required.
- Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
- Experience in nursing education or professional development is required with 3 or more years preferred.
