PRN 
Summary:
The Respiratory Technician applies equipment and performs therapeutic modalities to patients demonstrating abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system under the supervision/direction of a registered respiratory therapist.
 
Responsibilities:
1.Applies equipment and procedures to patients demonstrating abnormalities of the cardiopulmonary system.
2.Performs procedures verified by their Verification of Work Form from their accredited respiratory care program and must pass skills and competency for those procedures approved.
3.Works under the direction/supervision of a registered respiratory therapist.
4.Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
5.Other duties as required.
 
Other information:
Technical Expertise
1.Experience in respiratory care is required.
2.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
3.Experience in healthcare is preferred.
4.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required. Electronic health record software used for inpatient care is preferred.
Education and Experience
1.Education: Must be enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
2.Certification: Valid Ohio Limited Permit is required. Current Health Care Provider BLS certification is required.
3.Years of relevant experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred.
4.Years of experience supervising: None.
