Expected Starting Salary Range: 45.39 - 57.98 SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Manages data analysis, usage requirements, data governance with a focus on analytic and integration-intensive initiatives. Primary responsibilities include working with understanding data use, analysis and integration requirements and guiding solution design and architecture to meet these needs, including prototyping. visualizations, quality assurance and ongoing data quality. This role will be a specialized role focused on supporting leaders and data practitioner staff with insights, management reports, and analysis for decision-making process & training driving data literacy and data governance. The role could be aligned with a domain, department or the Enterprise program.
This role requires a collaborative partner to navigate our increasingly complex data ecosystems. The Lead Steward will interface with researchers seeking to use data and data solutions in their discovery work, helping to answer what data exists, how it may be appropriately accessed and utilized and where and how it may be stored for the purposes of research and discovery and, eventually, curated and shared with the broader research community. Additionally, this role will serve as a bridge between investigators and CCHMC's data ecosystem, governing research committees, regulatory processes, data governance, data analysts and architecture and infrastructure teams in Information Services. This position will collaborate with researchers, IS colleagues and CCRF personnel to develop and define data solutions and practices that adhere to FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) principles. This position will consult with, advise, and serve as the primary contact for researchers, determine data requirements needed to fulfill scientific research needs, and ensure that data requests are in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements. This position will collaborate with organizations across the enterprise to help create or improve policies and guidelines for working with research data. Additional responsibilities include advising and educating clinician scientists in proper research data handling procedures and collaboratively interacting with researchers and staff. This position may collaborate with others in the CRIO team on the development of databases and software applications or on the application of existing tools to support scientific projects, as well as contribute to the writing of grants, reports, and scientific publications.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Analysis & Strategy Mastery and an advanced degree of competence and confidence in solving challenges with highly complex, enterprise-wide data & analytic projects across multiple disciplines. Highlight emerging technologies and business processes to educate business leaders to keep the business and IT & data architecture in sync. Evangelize and drive compliance to data governance process, tools and technologies. Demonstrate knowledge of business and technical areas to identify, draft and drive valuable initiatives necessary in aligning technology in achieving business & data strategy. Serve as primary point of contact across client areas. Lead cross-functional teams and demonstrate ability to communicate clearly across functional and technical staff.
Data Governance and Stewardship Deep knowledge data governance processes including data definitions, metadata management, data quality, reference data and master data management. Collaborate with development teams to implement a Governed Data architecture supporting both traditional and nextgen analytics. Partner with business data stewards to evangelize data governance policies and procedures and ensure compliance for all projects/tasks. Monitor stewardship and curation progress of multiple domains and increase compliance and drive accountability through partnership and training of data practitioners. Interacts with Information Architects to understand how information is stored, modeled, and tagged. Act as single point of contact for data quality issues with complex analytic products and models, ensuring insights being delivered are reliable and ethical. Contribute to cross functional alignment of core concepts used in Data and Analytics.
Analytic & Technical Skills Develop mastery in knowledge of data analysis and usage requirements, including understanding of data and integration architecture. Understands the decision-making process, workflows, and business and information needs of business unit heads and data manager/owners. Develop prototypes & ad hoc analytics for complex projects to understand data use and create insights from data, using both structured and unstructured data. Develop competency in information taxonomy creation, information visualization and understanding of data warehousing techniques. Mastery in understanding of operationalizing data insights using Xops principles, collaborating with the Platform team to integrate insights into workflows. Works closely with information managers, architects, and business units for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and training. Proactively upskills with new techniques and tools and mentors junior staff.
Project Management and Leadership Timely completion of personally assigned tasks and assist with the execution of the tasks of others. Balance multiple project and support requirements for self and team. Recommend and lead initiatives with new tools and technology to advance analytics and insights . Participate and drive agile methodologies to improve the communication and delivery of data and insights across the organization. Proactive in the identification of potential issues and conceptualizing solutions. Lead projects to decrease downtime and system issues. Lead and mentor teammates in evaluating and monitoring system performance and functionality to avoid potential issues as well as gathering information for future development needs or feasibility studies.
Customer Service Ensure outstanding end-user support is provided, including ongoing monitoring of service level agreements for incident management and collaboration with other areas to ensure customer-centered support. Adhere to and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures. Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers.
